Putting the human side back into digital transformation.

Background

JICA was developing a new digital transformation initiative connecting Japan’s digital sector with partners in developing countries.

The identity needed to communicate technology and progress without losing sight of what JICA ultimately works with: people, communities and international cooperation.

Challenge

Create a contemporary identity for a DX initiative that could speak to government, business and international audiences without becoming another generic piece of “digital transformation” branding.

What I did

I worked with JICA stakeholders through a brand workshop to clarify the initiative’s purpose and align expectations before moving into visual development.

The resulting direction deliberately emphasised the human side of digital transformation, balancing a modern digital character with the accessibility and warmth expected of an international development organisation.

Outcome

The new visual identity provided JICA with a consistent foundation for communicating the initiative across its digital channels and to stakeholders spanning government, business and the public sector.
