It’s Been Too Long

Between Japan and the US, I started a family and life shifts to childcare. I changed gigs from global consulting to a Tohoku homebuilder, now on digital strategy and communication design. I’ll continue writing about branding, culture, language and whatever comes to mind.

Family life

Life’s been busy. I’ve bounced back and forth between Japan and the U.S. a few too many times, eventually met my amazing wife when I was in San Francisco. Now we live together with our sweetest daughters in the known universe.

Career-wise, I thought I was settling into a Very Large Consulting Firm™ when life decided to threw in a few plot twists involving family and health. So I pressed pause, changed scenery, and ended up in the Tohoku region of Japan, now working at a home building company. These days I juggle digital strategy and communication design with a generous side of rural peace and light chaos.

This blog is my place to slow down and put things into words again. I’ll be sharing things I’ve written before, and more importantly, things I haven’t written yet. Thoughts on branding, design, communication, culture, music—and all the half-formed ideas that occasionally survive the mental spam filter.

Some of it might be useful, some of it’s just me thinking out loud. Probably a bit messy, but hey—less about being right, more about being real.

Glad to be back. Stick around if you feel like it.
